Siena Tile & Stone Installation Products is currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced outside sales professional to join our team in the following areas: Southern California (LA & Valley), Northern California (Bay Area), Denver, and Las Vegas. This position would be responsible for developing and maintaining new and existing relationships, and bringing a consistent flow of profitable new business into the company, in accordance with Siena’s sales and marketing goals. They would provide exceptional sales and customer relations services, maintain and improve the company’s competitive position, and increase Siena’s market share. They would continually identify and communicate to management any specific customer preferences, requests for products or services, industry changes, and immediately work to provide a resolution to customer needs or concerns. Siena Tile & Stone Installation Products is a division of Omega Products International.

Responsibilities & Duties 

  • Identify, initiate, build, and maintain relationships with key architects, builders, distributors, developers, project managers, product specifiers, general contractors, and installation companies within the commercial and residential community to increase market share and overall sales volume
  • Coordinate sales efforts with other team members and management to identify unique customer needs, networking opportunities, special programs, marketing, and anything needed to increase market share
  • Goal setting and planning, ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly
  • Plans and maintains adequate cold and warm calls and leads to successfully cover the market
  • Follows-up on leads, jobs, quotes, specifications, sales and networking opportunities, and is able to offer systems and solutions to customers, architects and installers
  • Sell at approved pricing to meet or exceed targeted profit margins
  • Responds to all customer inquiries and requests quickly and in a timely and respectful manner
  • Plan, coordinate and conduct product knowledge demonstrations and training events
  • Provide feedback to management regarding, pricing, competition and other industry changing and opportunities to respond to customer and market needs and competitive strategies
  • Maintains industry and market awareness and provides feedback regarding customer relations and the customer’s perceptions of the products and service being provided to maximize customer retention
  • Communicate to the appropriate parties any problem areas, and work to find immediate resolutions
  • Represent Siena at company events, trade shows, and industry events, for the purpose of networking, building professional and positive relationships that lead to new business opportunities. Maintain a positive, respectful relationship with other companies in the industry and related industries
  • Participates in various trade associations such as: TCNA, CSI, NTCA to increase knowledge of the industry, sales opportunities, competition, installation techniques, technical changes, and best practices

Minimum Required Skills

  • Minimum three years of experience selling flooring, building, construction or related industry products
  • Understanding of architectural specifications, planning, bidding and processes related to the construction and building industry, submittals and pull-through sales
  • Professional, confident and positive sales mentality, able to think outside of the box, friendly and personable, able to create close relationships with clients to become an asset to their business
  • Results driven and self-motivated, able to work independently and with a team, respectful to all customers, co-workers and competitors a like
  • Must be flexible and able to maximize business opportunities as they arise
  • Ability to travel and work non-standard hours as needed for work events
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, listening skills, and able to coordinate multiple projects, tasks and job needs simultaneously
  • Strong math skills, able to calculate figures, per square foot costs, discounts, amounts, and volume
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Valid driver’s license required and a good driving record

Nice to Have

  • College degree or equivalent industry work experience
  • Sales experience in the tile and stone industry, builder products industry, or construction industry
  • Existing relationships with commercial and residential architects, builders, contractors, developers, and construction product distributors
  • Knowledge of tile, stone and masonry characteristics, and the differences in installation methods
